Perfumed Plume – award winner at CaFleureBon

I’m very excited to tell you that Cafleurebon just won an award with my piece called Perfume as  Opera . The Perfumed Plume – awards for fragrance journalism, is a new award similar to the UK Jasmine Award and the French Prix Jasmine. Read more here.

The category was:
Visualization of Scent Stories – Overall Design Presentation: ÇaFleureBon Perfume as Opera Madama Butterfly and Turandot.

Thank you Michelyn Camen for putting my story and visuals forward and believing in me. And thank you to the Perfumed Plume Awards, I feel honoured.

  1. yes!!!!! so well deserved Jasia! You are my star!!!

  2. Congratulations, Asali! Well-deserved!

    • I’m glad you think so Hajusuuri, thank you!

  3. Hooooray!!
    well deserved
    congratulations

  4. Congratulations, dear Asali! (and since I do not usually comment there, I should tell you that I absolutely loved your illustrations in that post, especially the watercolor one)

    • Thank you Undina, I’m really happy to hear that. It’s of course impossible to make something that everyone will like, and the result is not always as good as the intension, so I have to repeat to myself that I’m doing it because I enjoy it. But when someone likes it, it’s a great joy 🙂

    • An honour indeed, thank you Sun Mi 🙂

    • Thank you Cynthia, I’m happy you think so 🙂

  5. This is such fabulous news. I love your writing but this particularly good because looking at the category criteria it seems your amazing collages were a large part of the reason for your win. It’s so cheering to see your artwork getting recognition. I know you play it down but you really have an exceptional talent that you should pursue as far as you can. The main Theatre Collage is especially stunning.

    • Thank you Tara. What I love is that you prefer the theatre collage where Undina prefers the ink and watercolour. It goes to show that one can never predict these things, which is good because I can’t really control what comes out on any given day.
As you know, I do it for myself mainly, and apart from the work itself, my main reward is when people tell me they care or even come here for the illustrations. Still, it’s a truly lovely recognition.

    • Thank you Steve, yes, I feel honoured and thanks for thinking that it’s also deserved 🙂

  6. This is a fantastic and richly deserved accolade! Your posts combine delicately evocative writing – not in your native tongue let’s not forget, but it might as well be! – with arrestingly beautiful illustrations*, and the leitmotiv of music running throughout your body of work.

(* I really think you should do art cards, or sell prints or something. I would be first in line.)

    • Vanessa, what can I say… THANK you! It makes me happy you think so, but honestly, as I said to Tara, my main reward lies in truly appreciated comments like yours 🙂
      * I’m working on it, I promise!

    • Thank you Blacknall, it’s a fun journey to be on – a blog- don’t you think?
